Reebok Pump

While the Reebok Pump technically was released in late November of 1989, it hit the peak of its popularity in the ’90s. NBA stars such as Shaquille O’Neal had a version of the shoe. Heck, it even had a version called Above the Rim, inspired by and done with the makers of the film with the same name in 1994.

This shoe has had an odd history as well. It showed popularity in the early-to-mid-’90s before it seemingly disappeared. However, it never really did disappear as Reebok never discontinued it. The most recent version of the sneaker was released in 2017, a line of shoes called the Pump Plus. Still, to this day the Reebok Pump has not captured the eye of the masses as it did in the ’90s.

This commercial with sound-extraordinaire Michael Winslow was a fun, kid-friendly advertisement trying to pull in a young demographic.
